Who's a good Stoutland? Stoutland (Cosmic Eclipse: 248/236) is a good Stoutland. Yes they are, yes they are!
This secret rare features a stoic Stoutland standing by their trainer, Cheren. The artist, Mizue, paints an idyllic beach scene, complete with palm trees sprouting in the background. The pair pop against a washed out background filled with muted colours. This is a stunning card, grab your copy here.
Interestingly, the Cosmic Eclipse secret rare cards, like Stoutland (Cosmic Eclipse: 248/236), are likely a precursor to Trainer Gallery cards from the Sword and Shield era, and Illustration Rares from the Scarlet and Violet, and Mega Evolution eras. Effectively, these secret rare cards walked so that cards like Blaziken VMAX (Silver Tempest: TG15/TG30) could run.
Cosmic Eclipse proved a wonderful testing ground for full art illustrations in the Pokemon TCG. We're interested to see how these continue to evolve.
