Avoiding hyperbole, this is one of the greatest and most underappreciated artworks of modern Pokemon TCG. Galarian Moltres (VSTAR Universe Set: 190/172) stands as a testament to the seismic effort of artists, and the resultant joy their hard work brings collectors.
Artist Shinji Kanda employs a minimalistic blue background against intricate details found in the mountain and Galarian Moltres' feathers. Unlike their other works (see: Magikarp - Paldea Evolved 203/198), here Kanda's surrealism is embodied in the contrast between minimalism and intricacy. Reds of intermingling hues distinguish Galarian Moltres' feathers against the background adding flavour and movement. Further, the bird's legendary status is underlined by its pose, screaming beak, and relative scale to the mountain underneath. Altogether, the art is striking.
