With Pokemon's 30th Anniversary on the horizon, it's easy to overlook what came before — Pokemon's 25th Anniversary 'Sword and Shield: Celebrations' (2021) set. So, let's chat about some of our favourite cards from Celebrations whose names don't start with a 'U' and end in 'mbreon'.
Zekrom (Celebrations - Classic Collection: 114/114)

Wow. This is one shiny card. Originally released in 2011 as part of Black and White Base set, the card features an iconic artwork by 5ban Graphics that epitomises one-half of Pokemon Black and White's colour theming. The Celebrations reprint captures the original in painstaking detail, though adds a confetti holo-pattern bolstering the card's striking visuals. Find your copy of this reprint here.
Dark Gyarados (Celebrations: 8/82)
This little fish first appeared in Pokemon TCG's Team Rocket set all the way back in 2000. Renowned artist Kagemaru Himeno captures Gyarados' ferocity with bold clarity. The reprint knows nothing needs altering, and as with Zekrom the only point of difference is the holo-foil and the 25th anniversary stamp. Dark Gyarados (Celebrations: 8/82) is available to buy here.
M Rayquaza EX (Celebrations - Classic Collection: 76/108)
Rayquaza is back with the impending release of Delta Reign! However, some would argue Rayquaza never left. Either way, this reprint of M Rayquaza EX (Roaring Skies: 76/108) hits you immediately as Rayquaza bursts from the frame. Confetti holo-foil is applied selectively, with even Rayquaza's eye glinting at you as you move the card. This is another classic from the talented 5ban Graphics. Grab your copy here.
Celebrations (2021) was a wonderful set brimming with enjoyment. We can't wait to tear into 30th Celebration; no doubt it'll be just as much fun.
